Additional government primary sport funding (Sports Premium Funding)
The government have invested 450 million pounds in the improvement of physical education in schools. Caldershaw received £17,783 for additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport in school. School’s aim is to use this funding to increase participation in sporting activities giving all our pupils the opportunity to develop a healthy lifestyle and in particular targeting the least active children. School is accountable to Ofsted for the spending of this grant, and must show how effectively the funding is being used.
Caldershaw already has extremely good sports provision both within the curriculum and through the wide range of extra curricula sports clubs provided by our skilled staff. These include netball, football, basketball, hockey, athletics, cricket, rounders and dance.
School is a member of Rochdale Borough School Games Partnership, which arranges external coaches, competitions and training for staff.
